Dean Holland’s Quick Start Challenge – Week 4

I missed the last live webinar due to being on holiday.  We go on holiday with friends and there are no computers or internet of any kind, it’s sometimes good to be able to completely empty your mind and recharge your batteries.

Now it is time to get back to work! The first thing that I discovered was that the Aweber opt-in form was wrong, no surprises there then.  I hadn’t set it up properly and had accidentally used an existing list from something I had tried a long time ago, I did rather try to rush things before I went away so that I had something to show that I was taking part.  I will have to learn more about Aweber works now.  I did buy Deans Gold OTO so I have now tried to add these to the system,  I’ll have to wait now to see if they work.

Well done to Karson who won last week’s challenge.

I now have such a lot of things to do out of my comfort zone that it is very daunting, but I am determined to make this work.  Probably like many other people I’m not after the super rich lifestyle.  I just want the freedom of knowing that the bills are paid while having the time to spend with my family and friends, I think that the older you get the more important that this becomes.

I suppose I’ll have to do something about getting myself an account with facebook which won’t be easy as I’ve heard of it but have never been on it. Another thing that doing this kind of thing does, it makes you think more about your writing.  It’s years since I did English at school and I’m so rusty it’s unbelievable.

I have found the course very interesting and there is something about Dean’s teaching which makes you actually take action and put into practice many of the things that you may well have already learned from other products but not done anything with.

There is also now a forum on the site which should be helpful to us all.

The support from fellow students has been fantastic and I would like to thank everyone who has visited my blog, I have visited many of the other blogs myself and the styles and formats of them are so diverse.  I hope soon to catch up with the ones that I have missed and to then go back and see how much everyone has improved with Dean’s teachings

  1. Hi Rose,
That is exactly what I feel with Dean training! His coaching style is very actionable and nags you to do the right things.
That’s why I feel soooo lucky to win his coaching… I just need someone to kick my b… all the time, unfortunately…
Anyway, thans for stopping by and hope to work with you online.
All the best to you, Piotr

  2. You write very nicely, Rose, so I wouldn’t worry about that at all, if I were you.

Nice to meet you via the QSC. Let’s keep in touch and see if we can’t help each other reach our goals.

Once you get yourself set up on Facebook, there’s a nice group of QSCers going, and it would be nice to welcome you to that.

    All the best,
    Ray

  3. Hey Rose,

Well first of all, congratulations on setting up your Aweber form and getting it right finally.

These techie things aren’t too obvious and may need a little bit of dabbling with them before getting them right the first time so no biggie there.

I do recommend you get that FB account created though since it’s a wonderful way to connect and create business relationships with more people close to your niche and interests.

Hope you’re keeping yourself accountable and be ready to do a lot of work since that’s what’s going to make the difference in the long run.

Take care and have a great start of week! 🙂

  4. Hi Rose,

As we go through and beyond Dean’s challenge, it seems that more and more we have to learn a lot of things and things can just get so overwhelming. At least, that’s my experience.

Though hard at times, it has made me striven to face the challenges, an important virtue that Dean has taught me.

I wish you lack in your endeavor. I share with you the same aspiration of having to work home and spend quality time with the family.

    All the best!

    1. I totally agree, it can be very overwhelming, but like most things I suppose, once you have done things a few times you wonder what all the fuss was about. Just hard work in the meantime.

  5. Hi Rose

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Glad you enjoyed QSC and I can see that you have taken action with regular posts. We have a great community building, hope it continues.

    Best of luck going forwards

    Paul

  6. Hi Rose. It is good to have that complete break every so often, but good to see you back and getting on with the blog. It shouldn’t take you too long to get your head round Facebook. I resisted it for ages, but now I’m really into it. Been on there for about a year. It can be a bit of a time suck, but you just have to be disciplined about it.

  7. Hi Rose

Your English is fine! You write in a very natural way engaging way.

If you do go on facebook remember that it is a real time thief! Alway give yourself a time limit.

Also make sure you set up your privacy details so that people can’t see your private email address or mobile number.
    All the best
    Kay

    1. Thanks for the advice.

I see that you have picked up the WordPress tutorials, I’ve got these so I’m going through them so that I set up the site correctly, one of the first jobs that I need to do is to put a back up system in place.

      Take Care.

  8. Hi Rose,

Great to see you consistently taking action as well. I’m not sure what it is about Dean that makes me take consistent action but I think it is all about accountability and doing what you said you would do. That is what coaching is all about so I think that is why Dean has been so effective.

One general comment I have is that you opt-in page should be a bit more compelling. I can’t really tell what I am getting if I give you my name and e-mail address so you could be a bit more specific. I also personally don’t like the pop-up as soon as I hit your page but that is personal preference. You are well on your way but a few tweaks could help you grab some opt-ins (not that I personally have gotten any – grrrr).

So, good luck in the rest of the challenge. Have a Happy 4th of July!

    1. Thanks for your comments, I’ve got rid of the pop-up now I think I wasn’t too keen on that myself I did it just to get something done on the Challenge before I went on holiday.

  9. Hi Rose

Do you know that when I was reading this post, I thought that it could so easily be myself who had written it.
We have so much in common!

I hope we can keep in touch with each other and give each other some mutual support as we progress along our paths.

I wish you the best of luck in your success!

  10. Hi Rose!

Very nice and friendly theme you’ve got here!

Have you had a look at your pop up in entering the page? It seems to me like it might lack something? I don’t know…

    Keep going! 🙂

  11. Hi Rose!

The community will keep you going. I have a feeling that the support we’re giving to each other will still continue after the challenge. Good luck!

    Regards,
    Bibs

    1. It will be nice in future to revisit everyone and see how well we are all doing, this has been a very motivational course.

  12. Hey Rose

Great post! Totally agree with you about comfort zone…but somehow not being IN our comfort zone is a little more interesting no?

Your writing is fine by the way – just easy to read as if you were sitting here and saying it aloud. Guess thats the secret of good writing – well, I wish you luck with your blog and with your online goals. Be nice to cover a few bills right? 🙂

Drop by my site again if you want to share war stories from the online trenches.

    1. Thanks for commenting and I totally agree, it would be very nice to pay a few bills. I just want to be able to work from home and be able to spend more time with my family, I don’t crave fast cars and the jet set lifestyle I just want to know that the bills are covered and my family taken care of.

  13. Hey Rose!

Looks like you are doing well over here! I would sure like to go on holiday! I’m sure my wife would like to even more then me lol 🙂 We haven’t taken a break in over a year now. Glad you are enjoying the QSC as much as I am!
Good luck and if you need anything you know where to find me. 🙂

    Cheers,
    Karson

    1. Thanks for stopping by. A friend takes us on holiday to his timeshare or we wouldn’t have been going away, it makes a nice break.
